Navigatability. Despite a fairly spare Web design, it’s easy to navigate. I’s like to see more ways to interact with the site, though — like a Cast page, for instance.

Big thanks to Mary Cagle who offered to guest host a Hot Seat on Color!
Hey guys! First, thank you to everyone who submitted their comics for the coloring hot seat! I hope the advice rings true, and I’ll definitely answer any questions this might bring up.

Noir, baby! This comic captures the mood and the attitude of noir-era storytelling absolutely beautifully. The character designs… the characterizations… the composition… it’s very, very well crafted in that respect. The linework is coming along nicely — and that’s the hardest aspect of working in this kind of genre, but overall, I think this comic brings the noir in a big way.

Gesture. Although the art has not fully matured, I really enjoy how Cayen works extra hard on gesture to convey additional information about the scenes being created. There’s very little “talking heads” panels… instead, the characters emote and gesture… camera angle shift… focal points are directed towards hands and actions, rather than static heads. It’s a really wonderful aspect to the comic.

Today’s post was submitted by Webcomics.com member Nick Wright:
We all want more Twitter followers. I think most of us would prefer to simply be interesting (or famous) and let followers discover us naturally, but it’s not always easy. That said, there are a few tricks I’ve seen some Twitterers employ with varying levels of success, but the results they get may not be worth the sacrifice.

I, personally, find it incredibly difficult to wrap my head around color theory. I’ve always wanted to offer some sort of resource for color in this site, but I am absolutely unqualified to offer advice on the matter.

We’re well into the second half of the year, believe it or not. Now’s a great time to start planning the rest of your 2011.

Besides Marvel Studios, there was one clear winner at Comic Con International this past week in San Diego: Square. Time after time, I kept hearing about exhibitors who has made the switch — either voluntarily or because their existing merchant-services device has failed them — and they were thrilled. The content you are trying to access is only available to members.
