How To Make WebComics

Webcomics Handbook

Three years of Webcomics.com… and counting

Once again, I have the great joy and honor of thank you, the members of Webcomics.com, for another amazing year of independent comics on the Web.

If you want some idea of how proud I am over the strength of this site, just look back at the day I originally announced that this site would be moving to a subscription model. There are 272 replies — many of them foretelling the failure of the new Webcomics.com. As we move into our fourth year, I think it’s safe to say that they were wrong.

It’s impossible to add up the value of the shared information, insight and perspective that has taken place on this site. Thank you for your participation on the site posts. Thank you for launching and advancing discussion in the Private Forum. And thank you for your passionate-but-civil discussions in the critiques and Hot Seats.

When I started this site in 2009, I had a vision for the potential that a site like this could have. And, with your help, Webcomics.com has become all of that and more.

For 2013, I can promise you that I’m going to work my hardest to keep making this site everything that it can be — consistent, valuable posts about the topics that help you as a webcartoonist, exclusive member benefits, amazing constructive discussion, and tremendous sharing of knowledge among serious pros.

If you’ve been here for the whole three years, I can’t tell you how much I value that vote of confidence. And if you just got here, you’re in for a fantastic twelve months.
