Thought for the day: If you need to put an arrow in the layout of your comic — to direct readers from panel to panel — you’ve failed. Stop and start over.

I posted that thought on Facebook a few days ago, and I was really surprised by the response I got. Although most of the people who responded agreed with the statement, several tried to catch me in a “gotcha” moment — posting example of what they thought were good comics layouts that incorporated arrows.

And that told me that I had stumbled upon a good topic for Webcomics.com.
