Getting More Patreon Backers

I attended the Patreon On Tour conference in New York City last week, and I strongly advise you to take advantage of this opportunity if it comes to a city near you (LA, Austin, Seattle and Chicago are on the list). It was packed with great data-backed information, like information on which Patreon rewards work best. I shared that information in episode 11 of ComicLab (available to backers now, and on iTunes tomorrow). I’ll also be talking about some very exciting new developments on an upcoming episode of Surviving Creativity. And, of course, I’ll be talking about all of it here as the month progresses.

At one time in the presentation, the topic of promotion came up, and the data they had gathered floored me. I’d been thinking about patron-acquisition all wrong. Here’s what I learned…
