FrumphParticipant
You should do the test without the /?random part; .. that actually does a redirect by loading wordpress first then redirect – not really ‘best’ way to have accomplished that but works good
FrumphParticipantwebcomics.com is on Dreampress – dreamhost, for $20 a month. It is phenomenal – I will never point anyone to a VPS again; too costly in comparison to what you get.
FrumphParticipantI use CamStudio http://sourceforge.net/projects/camstudio/
Works impressively well.
FrumphParticipantDid you set your DNS (domain name) to point to the new hosting?

FrumphParticipantuh crud, .. one step before that, switch to the latest ComicPress theme instead of using Easel (the latest comicpress is just an upgraded Easel theme anyways)
but yeah, tons of new stuff in the latest comicpress in the appearance -> customizer for designing the look of your theme without having to know an ounce of CSS.
(before you switch copy all of your widgets to the inactive section in the appearance -> widgets; so you don’t have to recreate them) move them back after switching
FrumphParticipantremove the appearance -> header, go to appearance -> customizer and use the logo section then just add the banner the to the header widget area, bam you’re done
FrumphParticipant… I actually found the theme to be very well programmed for the most part, and I don’t say that often
FrumphParticipantI wrote up a blog post … and used the theme you sent me as the one in the example:
http://comiceasel.com/2014/05/14/editing-a-theme-to-support-comic-easel/
FrumphParticipantthe single.php is missing the do_action(‘comic-area’); as well
and the regular ‘featured image’ part of it needs to be done with an if statement
if ($post->post_type !== ‘comic’) { then display the featured image code for everything else but comics }
..
Feel free to email the theme to me at philip@frumph.net and I can give you the changes that need to be made
FrumphParticipantI know the guy who wrote Panel, I could ask him for ya if you like.
FrumphParticipantYeah I read all about that, seems a bit arbitrary to me like as if they’re doing the ratings ‘as however they see fit at the time’ and just change a value on a whim; .. can’t trust that..

April 15, 2014 at 1:42 pm in reply to: Is there a tutorial for creating a nice archive for my comic? #7695FrumphParticipantIf you’re using Comic Easel, use the [comic-archive] shortcode, it replaces template, you just type that into the content section of your archive page you created, there’s documentation on the different variables for it available at comiceasel.com
