General Protection Fault is one of the Web’s oldest continually updated webcomics, which debuted in November 1998. It follows the misadventures of the employees of GPF Software, a small software development company. Starting mostly in a slice-of-life, gag-a-day format, the comic has since evolved to cross many genres and formats, including drama, sci-fi, fantasy, and more. GPF has had five print compilations over the years, all of which are currently out of print. If you’re wondering which comic strip put sentient slime molds on the map, it was probably this one.
