Amazon eComics

Amazon has released a special app for comics-creators who want to release comics and graphic novels on the Kindle store. Howeverm there's a catch. In the words of a Webcomics.com member:

So Amazon has finally created a simple looking program that converts your comics into a format readable by Kindles, and makes them sell-able on the Amazon store.

It can do panel-by-panel view, and landscape format comics.

Awesome, right? except if you want to claim a 70% royalty you have to pay the delivery fee of $0.15 p/MB from your cut. Cause you know, it's 1997 and all.

Apparently on a novel this normally works out to be $0.06 which I guess is a text file of less than 500kb. Good luck pulling that off with a comic that they would like sell on their HD Kindle Fire.

This is *so* close to to being good news. Anyone know where we can contact Amazon about these absurd delivery fees and confirm this is the case?
